Landing a media job in the advertising jobs field has taken on a new meaning. The advent of social networking web sites has created a whole new skill set that is still being invented as we go along. This could be good news for those that were using the social media sites as a places to sharpen their marketing skill as you now are current masters of you craft.

Getting up to speed is easy in this new industry niche as long as you have the basic underlying craft and writing skills. The social media venue is so new and still growing every day, that you can’t help but be on the cutting edge unless you’re asleep at the keyboard.

Feeding the web is a bit more than just daily posts to Twitter and Facebook however, and the full job description will include the expected writing and editing marketing and sales materials for key word optimization, finding and building relationships with digital affiliate partners, and serving as liaison between various marketing supports services, both in-house and with the rest of the industry at large.

While you bring a new element to the table, you will need to come up to speed being able to provide the additional metrics that are similar in description to everyone else at the table. Tweets alone will not ensure a steady paycheck in the media jobs venues.
